The PrairieFire concept of shedding the old to make room for the new became a central theme for Matt as he became an empty nester. Realizing that he was working from old messages and ideas that were not working any longer he sought out a community of fellow journeymen (and women).
While building what is called a “Rule of Life” it became clear that working for a Big Wall Street Bank was no longer in his or his client’s best interests. After a lot of soul searching (and he had to convince Lisa) Matt decided to launch PrairieFire Wealth Planning in August of 2019.
Our desire then and now is to be our client’s first call with all things financial. We are readily available when life inevitably changes. We have found a wonderful community of like-minded clients and friends who have been generous and allowed our team to serve in our capacity as coach and counsel.
We continue to grow our firm and our services to offer something we believe to be truly unique in the financial planning community.

The Greater Des Moines YMCA is an organization Matt is passionate about. He currently serves as the Board Chairman for the Executive Board. Their focus on wellness, youth engagement and aquatic safety are integral to our community!
